As a holistic skin therapist for 37 years, I recognised the mind body connection and the need to support my clients emotionally, while they were going through skin healing programmes. I decided to do extensive  training in Hypnotherapy and NLP with the NZ College of Professional Hypnotherapy, in order to help them do this. Little did I know this would be life changing for me, I lost 22kg, healed all my hay fever and dog allergies, I can now go to the dentist without fear and have gained the confidence to do all the things in my life I have ever wanted to do.

I Now feel my path is to help you experience the same changes in your life by enabling you to achieve your best self.

I don’t offer band aid’s or quick fixes,  we get to the root of your issues to change your life for the better.

 

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis: We all go into natural hypnosis many times every day – we call it daydreaming.  This is when the mind wanders off to a different time and place and we go onto autopilot eg when  driving the car or washing dishes.  The subconscous mind comes forward to carry out the automatic tasks.  For therapy or self hypnosis we just add relaxation to the daydream.

What do we experience in hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a pleasant state of mental and physical relaxation. The inward focus of the mind increases so the subconscious mind becomes more receptive and responsive to positive suggestion, ideas and visualisation. This is the way we can make positive changes

 

Are you conscious and aware in hypnosis?

Of course. You are in full control at all times in hypnosis: you can hear the hypnotherapists voice and any other sounds, and you can open your eyes and come out of hypnosis at any time. But when you are so relaxed, you’ll probably just want to enjoy it for a while longer. Many of my clients are keen to learn self hypnosis so that they can take themselves into deep relaxation whenever they choose. I also encourage clients to practice mindfulness – being more present and living in the now.

 

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is literally ‘therapy whist in hypnosis’ ie therapy carried out when

you are in a very relaxed state.  Hypnosis is useful for therapy because it allows the subconscious mind to be more receptive to positive ideas and suggestions, visualisation and guided imagery.  We can also work more directly with the underlying blocks and patterns that have been holding you back or causing problems.   These are usually limiting beliefs and unresolved emotions.   We can’t change the past but we can change our emotional response to it.

 

NLP – Neuro Linguistic Programming

When we open our minds to new ways of doing things, new ways of interpreting information or events, or both; and even by understanding more about ourselves and others, then new and different things start to occur.  Good communication and being able to connect with self and with others in a more beneficial way.

 

Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP provides a very useful and powerful set of skills and techniques which complement hypnotherapy.

NLP techniques and skills can help us to think, act and communicate more effectively and to make behavioural changes in ourselves and others.
